Traveling During the Pandemic

Even with COVID 19 people still want to get up and go. They want to travel and see the world. These are some tips for traveling during the pandemic to stay safe.

Know the Rates

It is important to know the COVID rates and cases of the travel destination. If the area is having a lot of cases they may restrict travel or there may not be enough room to take care of all people that are ill.

Get Tested

Depending on where a person is traveling to and how they are traveling they may need to get tested before their vacation. They may need a negative test result to get on a plan. Some destinations will require a person have a COVID test before they are admitted. It may take a few days to get the test results so plan accordingly. If a person waits until the last minute they may not have their results in time. They should also self isolate when possible two weeks before traveling.

When staying at a hotel read up about the cleaning process and the measures that are being used to sanitize the rooms and common area. Some places are keeping the room unoccupied for a few days between guests. If a person is going to rent a home from a site such as Airbnb they need to learn about what measures are being taken to keep the home clean. A person may want to bring their own sheets, towels, and other items. They should also find out if there is a washer and dryer on-site to keep clothing clean.

These are some things to keep in mind when traveling during a pandemic. If a person still wants to get out and see the sights they need to take some extra precautions to stay safe.
